Fun at Løkken Beach
Bunkers at Løkken Beach
You'll find one of Europe's best beaches in Løkken. The beach is 10 km long and has fine white sand and no stones. It's great for children and has access for disabled. There are parts of the beach on which you may drive your car, and other areas where cars are prohibited.

During the summer season there are around 500 privately-owned beach huts on the beach, which make up the "white town".

Bunkers from the Second World War

If you drive north along the beach, you'll meet a remnant of the Second World War. Many of the German bunkers have become visible as the sea has eroded the dunes.

Today the bunkers provide shelter from the prevailing western wind. It's also possible to climb on and in the old bunkers. However, this should be done with care, as there can be sharp edges and rusty iron bars sticking out of the structures.

Sand competition for children

On the beach between Ndr. Strandvej and Sdr. Strandvej there's a chance to give your imagination free rein and use the materials you find on the beach in a sand competition for children every Wednesday during the summer season. At 4 o'clock the works of art are judged by a panel of judges and there are prizes for all participants.

However, there's of course nothing to stop you building castles in the sand on days on which there's no competition, and indeed the lovely beach makes an extremely inviting "building site".
In the beginning of July the Nestea Beach Volley Tour is held on Løkken beach. This is an annual event in which you can take part by signing up via the Internet.

If you don't wish to take part, you can also be a cheerleader and give your support to your favourite team.
