Bed & Breakfast

As the name implies, you get a bed and the offer of breakfast at a private home, where guests are sure to be able to enjoy the unique charm and variation of the accommodation and be well looked after by their hosts. Hosts in both urban and rural areas, in detached houses and on farms are ready to welcome guests in single, double or family rooms, some of which have communal living rooms, whilst all rooms have access to toilet, bathroom and kitchen/kitchenette. Prices can be seen on the website of the B & B in question.

Private rooms

Many families offer accommodation for you and your family in one or more rooms in their private home. The rooms represent a good, inexpensive way of staying overnight. The rooms are of course furnished with individual charm and comfort. In some homes there's also access to a garden or terrace. In additon, at many places you can also order breakfast. In the Land of Light a number of tourist offices provide contact to the families renting out rooms in the local area. When making an enquiry at the tourist office, the rooms can also be booked in advance if you book early.

On roadsides and in towns and villages you'll also often see signs with the words Værelser - Zimmer – Rooms, which indicate that a private room is available for rent. This takes place by knocking on the door and renting the room if there's a vacancy.
