200 km of beaches

The Land of Light is known for its long coastline and white sandy beaches. Nowhere else are there so many different beaches within a radius of just 50 km that provide such an invitation to activities and experiences all year round.

The beaches on the west coast

Adults and children alike cannot fail to be impressed by the beautiful long, broad, white sandy beaches lined by the large dunes that are found on the west coast near Løkken, Lønstrup, Hirtshals, Tversted or Skagen.

Here there are both child-friendly beaches with areas in which cars are prohibited, and beaches that have room for both games and cars.

The North Sea is always worth experiencing, whatever the season, weather or wind.

The beaches on the east coast

The beaches at Skagen, Frederikshavn and Sæby face out onto Kattegat, where the waves are only rarely very powerful and where the relatively shallow water with a sandy seabed warms up quickly. The child-friendly, broad and car-free beaches are often situated sheltered from the prevailing westerly winds by lovely dunes.

The white sand and the wide open spaces offer hours of fun and games for the whole family.
